Giving back to the community is a priority at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. It's part of who we are.  Here are the ways that we have recently (and continue in many cases!) to meet the needs of our community.

  • in 2009 we designed an interactive cooking event model called All Hands For Hunger.  It is a cooking class with a purpose where folks come in and cook a freezer full of food to donate to local charities.  To date, this model has provided more than 75,000 meals to the needy in our community.  We are very proud!  It's social entrepreneurship at its finest.
  • Recycling is important to us and runs throughout all of our efforts here.

  • Collected food for Harvesters in their bins

  • Collected for the Joplin Tornado efforts

  • Collected coats for the needy

  • How about a toilet paper drive? We did it.

  • Established a Blessing Bags project with our Staff Lunch attendees

  • I'm tellin' you we give away food to the needy ALL the time

  • Our popular Layers of Success Teambuilding model often ends with contributions of the beautiful creations to local charities to devour.

  • Can't tell you how many Gift Certificate donations we have made to area fundraisers... whew, it's too numerous to count!

  • Loads of cookies to the Arboretum fundraiser (I mean LOADS!)

  • Our Main Dish gave CCKC employees Fitbits ... is that giving back to the community?  I think so... it makes our little community healthier!

  • Countless hours of community minded projects to support our own Downtown Overland Park, KS, such as the popular Third Friday Local Life activities.

  • We donate food to employees' families in times of loss and transition.

  • ... and lots of other good deeds.

Here are some other giving opportunities
that we're cookin' up:

  • We'd LOVE To take a day and cook on location at a local charity
  • Teach underprivileged how to cook and about nutrition
  • We're designing "Pay What You Can" Cooking Classes
  • We'd like to teach people how to incorporate giving into their families - how to prepare frozen dishes, etc.

To make a request for a donation for your organization,
